Gran Canaria Las Palmas....

Wow! It seems like it's been forever but in the same breath it seems like it's all just happened.
It has been a blur this last week. So what has happened so far...

Day 1 (1-10-13):
We Slept... It had been a 20 hr flight and needless to say with a 5 hr time difference behind that of the timezone in Florida had wore quickly on our bodies. Pastor, Mrs. Dawn, Breanna (their little girl), Roberto, and Lily picked us up from the airport and he could tell it was us right away because we looked so much like tourists :) We can laugh at it now because we still look like tourists. We stayed at the Bible school that night and a lady (Joleen) from the church had set up our room with candles and a full meal. Pastor Steve and Mrs. Dawn had filled our fridge and and our cabinets with food. We were set to catch up from our jet lag.

Day 3 (1-12-13):
Workshop Time.... Pastor knew Greg liked to Bbq and so he utilized his cooking skills to cook out for a teachers conference that was being held up at the Bible school. I (attempted) to boil potatos and Greg succeeded at cooking a great meat! It was a success. We also had our first reality check.... We were not the native speakers! You don't realize how comfortable you are with your own language and familiar surroundings until you are placed in a location where everything you once knew is different. It was interesting trying to communicate however Pastor Steve and Mrs. Dawn helped us to communicate to the teachers.

Day 4 (1-13-13):
CLIC.... We were ready for some church! We greeted many people and it was incredible how welcoming everyone was. So many new faces and so many different nationalities.... It's incredible how God brings us all into one accord in one body through Christ our Lord. The church presented us with a basket of native Canarian goods (which I have already eaten the chocolates). What a welcoming! They also took us out to eat and we had a great Canarian lunch.

Day 5 (1-14-13):
Apartment.... The associate pastors to the church, Roberto and Lily, are such a happy and exuberant couple. They had set up an appointment for us to look at an apartment. It was spacious (for a European apartment and for just the two of us) and in our price range for our budget. God had shown us favor, we signed for it the very next day.

Day 6 (1-15-13)
We signed for our apartment :D
Honestly the whole time we have been here has been almost one big rush.... of emotions, of thoughts, of gratitude, of anxiety.... but God has taken very great care of His children.

Now it is Day 10 and we have got to meet some of the most incredible people (our Pastors, and Roberto and Lily, Melqi and Jessica) and we have had so much fun getting to learn the culture and Las Palmas way of life, getting to explore new things and figuring out how to function in a completely different society.
It has not been easy by any means.... it's been at times extremely overwhelming and difficult BUT GOD(... Isn't that how it is.... we are in circumstances or situations and then.... BUT GOD!) He placed right people in our lives at the right time to accomplish exactly what He has us to do. We are still having an interesting time getting around. The more and more we walk (which is our transportation because we now live in the city) around we see just how broken and lost people are. We found that in the states as well but God has us here for such a time as this to be compelled by the love of Christ to reach a hurt and dying world.
